Este rey sent\u00eda celos de David. Para evitar que este tomara como esposa a su hija le puso un reto casi imposible (no, no fue cazar al minotauro). David cumple con el reto lo que demostr\u00f3 que el dios Jehov\u00e1 estaba con \u00e9l. Curiosamente este dios Jehov\u00e1 hab\u00eda elegido a Sa\u00fal como rey. Antes de que el plazo se cumpliera, 27 David tom\u00f3 a sus hombres, y fue y mat\u00f3 a doscientos filisteos; luego llev\u00f3 los prepucios de \u00e9stos al rey, y se los entreg\u00f3 para poder ser su yerno.
